Lee Alpern opened Lee Driving School, Inc. in 1968. Lee taught high school in Redford for over 30 years. Thousands of safe drivers are on the road because of Lee. Lee passed away in 2018 and his daughter Sheryl continues in his tradition.
Sheryl Alpern moved back to Michigan in 2001 and joined Lee Driving School, Inc., after a successful career in sales. Sheryl has worked for the Secretary of State, including as a road tester. Sheryl has taken over the family business creating a second generation of defensive driving teachers.
Brian Yousif-Dickow is the newest instructor at Lee Driving School. He is an Electrical Engineer at ZF in vehicle safety systems. Brian graduated from North Farmington High School and Wayne State University. He brings his own unique and fun style in teaching that keeps the students engaged and learning.
William Mohr joined Lee Driving School, Inc. in 1973 as an instructor and eventual partner. He taught secondary social studies for over 40 years in Michigan--6 years at Thurston High School in South Redford (where he met Lee Alpern) and 38 years at Lakeland High School in Huron Valley. During his tenure at Lakeland High School, he also served as Department Chair (Social Studies), coached freshman, junior varsity and varsity football--eventually becoming head varsity football coach and entering the Lakeland High School Hall of Fame. His wife, Susan, has been an integral part of the Lee Driving School team since 1976.
